Electrolysis

Electrolysis treatment is a method used to remove hair permanently. Using sterile, disposable needles which are very fine, this state-of-the-art technique destroys the cells which cause hair growth.  By passing a very low current of electricity through the needle, which has been inserted into the hair follicle into the area which nourishes the hair (called the papilla) this destroys the hair follicle’s ability to regenerate, thus permanently preventing regrowth. It works by passing a small amount of energy (a current) into your hair follicle through a very fine probe. This then produces a chemical reaction that destroys the cells at the base of the hair. Each hair is probed individually and then removed using tweezers.

This hair removal treatment is suitable for most areas on the body and hair types.

This hair removal treatment can be used to treat most areas on your face and body, but electrolysis is best suited for treating small localised areas such as your upper lip, chin, eyebrows, midline of your stomach, and your areola. Disposable needles are used for every treatment.

Does the treatment hurt?

Some people find the electrolysis process more painful than others, the pain or discomfort felt is not caused by the insertion of the epilator, but by the application of the electric current which stimulates nerves that are present near the hair. If you are sensitive to pain, then please discuss with Maree during your consultation.
